TapColor Extension — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the TapColor browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. It is separate from the TapColor website policy (see the website privacy policy). The guiding principle: the extension does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.

What the extension does

• New Tab page. When you open a new tab, the extension fetches https://tapcolor.app/daily.json — a small public file listing the daily coloring page — and shows today's picture. This is a normal web request for public data; no information about you is sent.
• “Make a coloring page” (right-click selected text). When you highlight a name or word and pick this menu item, the extension simply opens a TapColor page that turns that text into bubble letters to color. The selected text is passed only in the page's web address — nothing is stored or sent anywhere else.
• Popup. Quick links to the website and a search box. Searching simply opens the website's search page in a tab.

What the extension stores

• On your device only (browser extension storage): a cached copy of the daily list and your local coloring “streak” counter. None of this leaves your browser.
• No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifiers inside the extension itself.

Permissions, and why

• Storage — to cache the daily list and your local streak on your device.
• Context menu — to add the right-click “Make a coloring page” option on selected text.
• Access to tapcolor.app — to read the public daily list for the New Tab page. The extension does not request access to any other website.

Data sharing & sale

We do not share, sell, or transfer any data collected by the extension — because the extension does not collect personal data in the first place.

Children

The extension shows coloring pages suitable for all ages and collects no personal information, so it does not knowingly collect data from children.
